I am involved in research projects studying (1) the aging of polymers in explosives, specifically the aging of Estane 5703 in PBX 9501, and (2) the mechanisms of collision-induced dissociation (CID) and recombination of atoms and molecules using accurate quantum mechanical methods.
Research Interests and Expertise--Molecular scattering theory and intermolecular forces, especially the quantum theory of 3D reactive (rearrangement) collisions and photodissociation. Nonadiabatic effects. The quantum few body problem. Coordinate and axes transformations. CS and IOS approximations. Chemical kinetics and mechanisms. Theoretical modeling of chemical experiments.
