Joel is a technical staff member in group T-12 in the Theoretical
Division at Los Alamos. His research is focused on development and
application of atomistic and molecular simulation methods for problems
in chemistry and materials science.
Some Research Interests and Projects:
- -- CSMS -- The Center for Semiconductor
Modeling and Simulation. This is a CRADA activity between the DOE and
the Semiconductor Research Corporation to develop and enhance software
for modeling the deposition and etching of materials on semimconductor
wafers.
- Semiconductor process chemistry
- Interatomic potentials for atomistic simulations
- N-scaling approximations to tight binding electronic structure/molecular
dynamics
- Dynamical simulations of hot, dense matter (hydrogen, alkali metal
liquids)
- -- TQMP -- Transient Quantum Mechanical Processes.
This is an LDRD-supported research project to study the coherent control
of molecular processes using time-dependent quantum mechanical wavepacket
methods.
- Self-assembled monolayers - electonic structure and molecular dynamics
of sulfur-alkyl compounds on gold and silver surfaces
